After the 7th "Hot Snow" Festival, I came to the realization of how precarious our situation was. Not only were we facing man-made obstacles such as police tracking and warnings, but we were also caught between two disastrous events that were beyond human control and impossible to avoid. The festival took place from December 27, 2019 to January 10, 2020, coinciding with a brief period of peace between the Siziwang Banner plague in Inner Mongolia and the subsequent outbreak of Covid-19, which hit the world with devastating force. The more I reflect on it, the more I realize how miraculous and lucky we were to have successfully completed the festival without any major setbacks.

第 7 届“热雪”之后我才意识到情况有多么险峻。警方的追踪与警告是人为的障碍,而最令我后怕的 是,我们的这次活动竟然夹在两个人类无法控制和回避的天灾之间。整个艺术节从集合到解散,时间是 2019 年 12 月 27 至 2020 年 1 月 10 日之间,正是内蒙古四子王旗的“鼠疫”和后来凶猛袭来的“新冠病 毒”之间短暂的平静,越想越感幸运和惊险。
During the pandemic, I took on the challenge of curating online exhibitions and transferring a performance art festival from the physical world to the international network. This resulted in the creation of the "Cross Over" online art festival, which is a digital representation of the "Hot Snow" art festival, and coincides with New Year's Eve. The festival has been held for two consecutive years, and has provided a platform for artists to showcase their work and connect with audiences around the world.
In addition to this, I organized several themed international art group exhibitions during the pandemic period, taking advantage of the convenience of the internet and international standards. I used platforms like Facebook and WeChat to spread awareness about these events and inspire artists to create new works.
One of my most successful exhibitions was the "Shared Crisis" international art exhibition, which I curated on September 11, 2020. This exhibition ran for two months and brought together artists from around the world to share their perspectives on the pandemic and other global crises. I also compiled the works from this exhibition into a book, which served as a lasting reminder of the resilience and creativity of artists during times of adversity.
Overall, these projects have allowed me to explore new avenues for artistic expression and collaboration, and have demonstrated the power of technology to connect people from different parts of the world. I am proud to have been a part of these efforts to inspire and uplift people during a difficult time.

In 2022, I organized a parallel exhibition titled "Overlapping Kassel" during Documenta 15, with the goal of creating a live performance art festival at the lowest possible cost. To my delight, 59 performance artists from around the world enthusiastically responded to the call and came to Kassel at their own expense to contribute to this ambitious project. Over 10 days, we collectively realized the "Overlapping Kassel" art project, which was a resounding success.
What makes this project even more remarkable is the fact that it was accomplished with almost no cost, in stark contrast to the official Documenta 15 which had a budget of 42 million euros. By creating an international-level art event on a shoestring budget, we proved that the true value of art lies not in its financial cost but in the ambition and creativity of the artists involved. "Overlapping Kassel" was a testament to the power of collective effort and artistic vision, and it has left a lasting impression on all those who participated. It is my hope that this project will inspire others to pursue their creative ambitions regardless of financial constraints, and to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of art.
