蔡青系列新书介绍 Cai Qing’s Introduction of Now Books
Performance art has historically been considered a fringe art form in China, often relegated to underground circles in the 1980s and 1990s. However, with the emergence of Chinese contemporary art on the global stage in the early 21st century, there was a period of relative openness that lasted several years. Despite this, performance art in China has never received official funding and has often relied solely on the personal passion and persistence of the artists involved. In recent years, the Chinese government's cultural policies have become increasingly restrictive, and the censorship system has made it difficult for Chinese artists to create and showcase their work. Performance art, along with experimental films and other avant-garde art forms, has been particularly affected. This is why I have made it my mission to delve deep into the world of performance art, editing and writing books that document the lives and works of these often unacknowledged, unsupported, and even banned artistic creations, and introducing them to a wider audience . In recent years, I have completed several books in both Chinese and English, providing a record of these important artistic expressions and shedding light on their significance to the world.CaiQingArtist@outlook.com

2021 年 5 月任中国美术学院公共艺术学院客座教授， 在网上授课一月后的成果是 两本书：《蔡青教学备案- 中国美术学院公共艺术学院》575 页，中英双语。和一 个在教学期间在学生与国际艺术家之间网络互动 项目《变脸》425 页，中英双语。 In May 2021, I had the honor of serving as a visiting professor at the School of Public Art at the China Academy of Fine Art. Over the course of one month of online teaching, I had the opportunity to engage with students and share my expertise in the field. The results of this collaboration are two impressive publications: "Cai Qing's Teaching Case - School of Public Art, China Academy of Fine Art," a comprehensive 575- page bilingual book in Chinese and English that showcases the insights and perspectives gained from my teaching experience, and "Face Change," an innovative online interactive project that brought together students and international artists in a dynamic and engaging way. This project is also documented in a bilingual 425-page book in Chinese and English.

Anthology of live art re-implemented after the pandemic
2022 年 6 月当在德国完成了“重叠卡塞尔”- 现场艺术 节和行为艺术文献展后，自然生成的结果， 两本英中文双语的文献书,487 和 489 页。 同时也有一本 简易现场艺术画册！（中英文）277 页
June 2022 When the "Overlapping Kassel" - live art festival and performance art documenta exhibition is completed in Germany, a result bring two bilingual documentation books in English and Chinese were produced，487&489p. There is also an easy live art booklet! （Ch- En）277p “重叠卡塞尔”现场⾏为艺术节是从 2022 年 6 ⽉ 16-26 ⽇。在我们最终到达卡塞尔现场的 59 ⼈的队伍中，有多 于 4 分之⼀的⼈感染，测试结果是阳性。
在当前现实中，我们必须学会与疫情共处！我们坚持把 ⾏为艺术节如期办完了，这是全体艺术家⽤⽣命换取的 ⼀个“后疫情时代”的⾸个世界⼤型现场⾏为艺术节，它 发⽣在卡塞尔⽂献展同时。⾏为艺术家以个体的精神创 作和联合协作的⽅式重叠了当下⼈类的种种处境，强有 ⼒的在现实中发⽣与表达，竖⽴起⼀座雄伟的丰碑！
The “Overlapping Kassel” live performance art festival is from June 16-26, 2022. Of our team of 59 people who ended up at the Kassel site, more than one in four were infected and tested positive.
In the current reality, we must learn to live with the pandemic! We insist on finishing the performance art festival as scheduled. This is the first large- scale live performance art festival in the world in a “post- epidemic era” that all artists have exchanged their lives for. It took place at the same time as Documenta in Kassel. The performance artist overlaps the various situations of human beings in the way of individual spiritual creation and joint collaboration, and it is powerfully generated and expressed in reality, erecting a majestic monument!

In September 2023, the "Immersive" - Live Art Tour 8 was completed in New York. The document of the same name records the entire process from the beginning of the planning to the implementation. The famous scholar He Yuhong, performance artist and curator Xiang Xishi, and performance artist and poet Yi Yi wrote prefaces. Bilingual in Chinese and English, 349 pages.

"Dialogue with Performance Artists and Curators I Met" is a long-term project. From May 2023 to now, 130 paintings have been completed by artists and curators scattered in all corners of the world. Each portrait is accompanied by text annotations, basic information about the artist, experiences with the author and descriptions of his works. Chinese and English, currently 287 pages.
